Hallertau hops

Today, Hallertau hops are exported to over 100 countries around the world to give the best beers in the world their pleasantly bitter, fine aroma, foam stability and much more. Highly specialized hop farms produce over 25 hop varieties, from powerful Hochalphahopfen to the finest Aromahopfen and special flavor hops, bred hop varieties with natural fruity flavors. Today, the Hallertau is also home to the largest and most modern processing plants, with sufficient cooling capacity to store the quality production carefully and process it into a wide variety of hop products.

The Hallertau hop-growing region is characterized not least by the world-leading hop research conducted by the Bayerische Landesanstalt für Landwirtschaft together with the Gesellschaft für Hopfenforschung e.V. at the Hopfenforschungsinstitut in Hüll near Wolnzach. State-of-the-art production methods and new cultivation varieties are constantly being developed there in line with the requirements of integrated plant cultivation and the international brewing industry.
