The LEADER funding program is a success story for the development of rural regions in Bavaria. The focus is on the Local Action Groups (LAGs). They are partnerships between municipal, economic and socially committed stakeholders in the region.   <\/p>\n<p>68 LAGs have been recognized for the 2014 &#8211; 2020 funding period. This means that the Bavarian LEADER area covers 86% of the state area and 58% of the population.
